The Finalist Jumpstart day is for undergraduate finalists who are not sure what to do next or know what they want to do but need some help to get there. Parallel sessions will ensure all attendees can make the most of their time and attend the workshops most relevant for them.

Event information

The Finalist Jumpstart day will run in-person on campus on Tuesday 2 June 2026.

(If you have final year students who can't be on campus on 2 June for the day, there is still plenty of support available. The best way for them to get help is to come to a Careers Centre drop-in between 10:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday during term-time. Careers also offer remote options for those no longer in Bath. Read more about drop-ins and other 1:1 support available from Careers.)

What's involved

Taking place on campus and open to all undergraduate finalists from any Faculty / School, this interactive day gives students the chance to:

  • hear from the Careers team on potential next steps
  • have round-table discussions with peers
  • take some time to reflect on their individual goals and action

The day isn't about sitting and listening to others. It's a day where students actively take part, asking questions of themselves and others, and really engage in a variety of activities.

Students can follow one of two tracks for the day, based on where they are in their career thinking, to make sure the support is tailored to them. In the run up to the event we'll also give them tips and resources to help them make the most of it, and afterwards all attendees have the opportunity to schedule a 1:1 with a Careers Consultant if they want to.

Why students should attend

This is a day that has been specifically designed to support undergraduate final-year students in planning their next steps after graduation. Attending gives them the opportunity to:

  • spend a day focusing on their career goals in a supportive environment
  • gain confidence in planning their next steps
  • book a follow-up appointment with a Careers consultant

Booking a place

When booking a place, students need to choose which track to follow for the day; either: 'I haven't decided what to do after I graduate' or 'I know what I want to do and need some help to make it happen'. This helps us ensure everyone participating gets the most out of the event and that workshops are tailored to students’ needs.

If circumstances change before the event, students will have an opportunity to update their choice.

Students can book a place in MyFuture.
