This event will take place on Wednesday 9 July and is designed for all wet and dry lab users including academic staff, technicians and postgraduate researchers. Expect a filled programme of workshops, talks, and networking opportunities, all focused on practical ways to reduce the environmental impact of lab and workshop based research and teaching.
Sessions will include:
- our University commitment to the Concordat for Environmental Sustainability of Research & Innovation Practice and the implications for our research community
- how to adopt a sustainable approach to lab procurement
- minimising and dealing with lab waste and recycling on campus, and what to do with your contaminated plastics
- sustainability certification for your lab with tips on how to get started and progress from Bronze
The event is in person and free to attend, spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch will be provided but please bring your own reusable water bottle.
