On your feet Britain is a national awareness day aimed at desk-based workers across the UK. It encourages people to take part in a variety of activities to 'sit less and move more' at work.

Research shows that regular movement throughout the day leads to:

  • better physical and mental health
  • increased motivation
  • improved concentration
  • and many more wellbeing and performance benefits

To mark the occasion, the Men's Network have organised a Bath skyline walk which is open to staff of all genders to come along and join.

Starting from the library at 12pm, this circular walk will head to the far corner of Eastwood and up onto the golf course. Walking counter-clockwise, the general route will follow the perimeter of the course with amazing views across north-east Bath. The route will be easy and the pace will be gentle.

When we reach Sham Castle with its beautiful view across the city centre, we will head back towards the University, coming out near 2 South and back up to the library.

The terrain is mostly open fields with short grassland, but there are three short sections through the woods which have slightly steep areas with tree roots and boulders, so we recommend you wear sturdy footwear.

It is estimated the route will take between 1 to 1.5 hours.

Bring a drink, and feel free to bring your lunch if you would like to.
