The University is saddened to learn of the death of Tom Britten, who passed away after a sudden illness on Sunday 24 April.
Tom was our Commercial Director from March 2018 to March 2021, with responsibility for the development of our commercial services. He worked closely with many colleagues across the University community.
Tom joined us from University of Warwick after a long career in retail with Tesco. In March 2021, he went on to become Chief Operating Officer for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).
Professor Ian White, Vice-Chancellor, said: “Tom Britten was well liked and well respected here at Bath and he made a significant contribution to our community in his time with us. This news is deeply distressing and will come as a shock to many. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and close colleagues.”
