What's happening
The University's mobile phone contract is moving to Vodafone. With our current contract coming to an end, this is the right time to move to a provider that better suits how the University works - particularly for international data roaming.
DDaT and Procurement have worked with the Government Commercial Agency to identify the best solution, and Vodafone offers improved service alongside significant savings and better value for money.
What this means for you
- Better support for international travel and data roaming
- Significant cost savings and better value for the University
- Access to a new online portal giving you more control and visibility over your mobile account
A new self-service portal
The move to Vodafone comes with a new portal that makes it easier to manage your mobile account. It's designed to be user-friendly and gives you better control and visibility over your service. Support and training materials will be made available, with details to follow.
What you need to do
Nothing for now. We'll switch colleagues over in stages over the summer, with everyone moved by the end of September 2026. Your mobile number will stay the same, and we'll contact you before your switch with everything you need to know.
Help and support
If you need help with your work mobile phone, please contact the IT Purchasing Team by raising a ticket via the Self-Service Portal.
