The Chinese stream of the University's Interpreting and Translation programmes (MAIT and TBI) had the great honour of welcoming Mr Chen Feng, Senior Interpreter at the United Nations office in New York to Bath on Friday 19 November. Mr Chen gave a talk on interpreting at the UN and the next round of tests to recruit interpreters to the United Nations as part of the UN Outreach Programme with universities from all over the world.

Over the years, a number of Bath graduates have gone on to work at the United Nations institutions as interpreters, translators and editors. The University of Bath also has a Memorandum of Understanding with the UN, enabling the programmes to regularly invite guest speakers and send our students for study visits at the various UN offices in Europe and beyond.
