The University is in the early stages of designing plans for new student accommodation for Claverton Down campus. The University’s Masterplan, which was carefully developed with a wide range of stakeholders, includes plans for increased provision of on-campus student accommodation to the east of our campus site and the University is exploring options.

Work is now underway on a pre-application process involving consultations with Bath & North East Somerset Council (B&NES).

Once the pre-application process is complete, stakeholder consultation will be held to gather views on the emerging proposals, most likely in spring 2025. A full planning application will then be submitted later in 2025.

The planning process will also include a further opportunity for all interested parties to contribute their views on the application, once submitted.

The University understands that a major project like this will be of keen interest to many people, both within and beyond our University community, and will endeavour to keep all stakeholders informed throughout.
