The University is pleased to announce the launch of a new innovation and enterprise space on campus.

Our new Enterprise Lab (E-Lab) is located on the third floor of East Building and has been created to provide a place where students and researchers wanting to develop their ideas for new businesses, products and services can access support and share their ideas. The E-Lab will also be utilised by student mentors, fledgling local businesses, relevant student societies and provide a focal point for Enterprise related events across campus.

The E-Lab can be used to support a variety of activities including 1-1 mentoring, specialist advice sessions, start-up workshops, guest speaker events, masterclasses, interviews with entrepreneurs and networking opportunities for students and academics. Our growing enterprise campus community can use the hotdesking facility for quiet working and an open collaborative working space, as well as private meeting rooms which will be available to reserve.

E-Lab will also provide a physical location for related University programmes and initiatives including our forthcoming ISTART partnership with Bath Spa University, Bath College and Bath and North East Somerset Council. It will complement the University’s SET Squared Innovation Centre located in the city centre, which continues to support localised start-up and scale-up businesses with a focus on high-tech / high growth SMEs.

Professor Jonathan Knight, Vice President Enterprise said: "I’m delighted that we have been given the opportunity to pilot this valuable new space on campus. It is important that we provide additional support for our enterprise community, help to increase the visibility of existing activities and encourage others to participate. I look forward to hearing about lots of new ideas and receiving feedback on how we can make the E-Lab a success."

Izzie Hurst, Alumni Innovation Award Winner and founder of clothes swapping app Dopplle said; "As a recent graduate it’s been great to have the E-Lab available for me to occasionally base myself when I am in Bath. Dopplle is still in its early stages, so having space on campus has been invaluable, allowing me to get direct guidance and continued input from the University’s Enterprise team."
