The International Relations Office is pleased to announce that the University has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE).

As part of this new partnership, a delegation from HKU SPACE visited the University on November 19, 2024. The HKU SPACE delegation was led by Prof. William Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, who was accompanied by Dr John Cribbin, Deputy Director (Academic Services). During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed. The intent of this agreement is to establish academic cooperation between the two institutions starting with articulation agreements, with the possibility of further academic collaboration in the future.

Founded in 1956, as the continuing education arm of the University of Hong Kong, the HKU SPACE has played a pivotal role in providing lifelong learning opportunities since its inception. HKU SPACE offers a wide range of programmes, including certificates, associate degrees and higher diplomas, and aims to provide lifelong learning opportunities for personal, professional, and career advancement across a diverse variety of disciplines. This partnership builds on the University of Bath's existing student exchange partnership with the University of Hong Kong for the School of Management and Department of Economics students.

On the new partnership with HKU SPACE, Vice-Chancellor and President at the University of Bath, Prof. Phil Taylor, commented:

This collaboration signifies our commitment to expanding international educational opportunities and fostering academic excellence. By working together, we aim to enhance the learning experience for HKU SPACE students and contribute to the global academic community.

The University of Bath is proud to formalise a relationship with HKU SPACE and looks forward to seeing the successes of this partnership.
