Teacher Champion Programme 2022

We know the vital role that teachers have in helping to ensure all students have the same chances of accessing higher education opportunities.

Student and teachers stood side by side in a line with their awards

To help strengthen our relationship with inspirational teachers across the UK, we are launching the University of Bath Teacher Champion Programme in 2022.

Teachers from around the UK are invited to be part of this new, national network of secondary and college teachers who are all passionate about widening participation and access into higher education.

The programme offers teachers the chance to gain peer support, insights, knowledge and information about different areas of higher education progression to help support more students access to higher education opportunities. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the university to help shape and inform our widening participation and outreach resources and programmes.

The programme includes three virtual discussion webinars from March to June 2022 and an optional in-person CPD event hosted on campus at the University of Bath in July 2022. After each webinar, teachers will gain access to high-quality, ready-to-use resources including student assemblies, INSET presentations and parent/guardian toolkits. The programme is free for teachers and paid cover will be provided to attend the in-person CPD event on campus.
