This award is made in recognition of excellence in leadership in learning and teaching in the University.
In 2016 the award was presented to Dr Anthony Bush in the Department for Health.
Dr Bush was recognised by the Committee as having demonstrated significant and sustained achievements in the leadership of learning and teaching through a variety of roles during his career at Bath from admissions tutor to Director of Studies to Director of Learning & Teaching.
Dr Bush’s excellent leadership and support has led to major achievements and new developments in teaching for the Department for Health, including the implementation of a transformational suite of strategic and operational reforms that led to exceptionally positive feedback from students about their experience.
Dr Bush’s commitment to learning and teaching goes beyond that of students, he also prioritises the mentoring and development of colleagues. He is supportive, inspirational and encourages colleagues to achieve their potential, and his exceptional working relationship with other staff enables him to support and achieve positive change.
Dr Bush’s influence extends more widely through his dissemination of good practice at University-wide events and committees.
The Committee felt that Dr Bush’s exceptional leadership and management made him highly deserving of this award.
