Ai explains how the Pre-sessional course helped to prepare her for the MSc Management degree.
My view of the Pre-sessional course
Before you started, what did you hope to get from the Pre-sessional course at Bath?
The improvement of my English skills was the main thing that I hoped to get from this course. There were not only academic skills but also daily English language classes.
This is because I need to be fully prepared before I start my main course, which will be harder and more complex.
What for you was the most interesting thing about the course?
The course structure and the class atmosphere was the most interesting thing about the Pre-sessional course.
When I started the course, I found that it was totally different from how I had learned before. The teachers always encouraged and motivated me. This made me more confident in interacting in class.
The teachers and classmates were also open-minded, so I felt free to ask for help and share my opinion.
How easy was it to make friends and form connections with the other students?
I found it easy to make friends with other Thais and international friends. This is because most of us lived in the same accommodation, so we met before starting the Pre-sessional course.
Moreover, in class, we do a lot of group work where I can work on and finish the assignment with friends I have never worked with before, and we are kind and open-minded towards each other.
What did you do between the end of the Pre-sessional course and the start of your main course?
After the Pre-sessional course, my peers and I became best friends. We went on a road trip for two days. It was extremely exciting. We also joined the Welcome Week that was managed by the faculties and joined some activities in the Freshers' Week. I made more friends from there.
How did the Pre-sessional prepare you for your main studies?
It helped me a lot in writing. I know how to outline and write essays, so I write more fluently than I expected.
What is your favourite thing about living in Bath?
My favourite things about Bath are the vibe and the scenery. This city is a traditional and natural city, which makes me feel relaxed. I love parks the most because when I feel uncomfortable, I am healed by sitting in the park and watching the sunset.
I have a slow life here. People are also lovely and willing to help you when you seem confused or ask for help.
