  • Evaluate how current developments in finance practice are shaped by, but often depart from, textbook and theory
  • Be conversant with current developments in finance practice
  • Demonstrate awareness of the need for practice to remain relevant
  • Research and synthesise complex information on contemporary issues in finance practice



Synopsis: Develop a broad understanding of the topical issues in the finance practice. You will learn how theory is applied in practice and the challenges you may face as a finance practitioner. Topics covered will change to reflect contemporary finance, but some topics we would have explored in recent years include blockchain, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency.

Content: By its nature, the unit content will be directed towards issues in finance practice that are contemporary at the time of delivery.
