Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit, you will be able to: -Understand and critically evaluate the main theories and tools related to the contemporary environmental debate; -Critically evaluate environmental rhetoric and activities of governments, businesses and or civil society organizations using the theories and frameworks provided in class; -Construct coherent, well-planned, and sufficiently evidenced arguments to support thinking on environmental issues and activities; -Use knowledge of environmental issues to propose, evaluate, and critique the validity and scope of organisational responses to environmental issues.


Synopsis: Explore the environmental foundations of sustainability and understand how corporations interact with the natural environment. You will advance your knowledge of basic scientific concepts relevant to managing for environmental impact, investigate potential for mitigating the environmental impacts of business activities, and promoting an environmentally friendly way of organising economic activities.

Content: The unit will address key concepts and debates in the field of environmental sustainability, with an emphasis on philosophies of human-nature relations, environmental ethics, and businesses' environmental impacts.
