Aims: The aim of this unit is to critically assess the role of sport and related constructs (e.g., physical activity) in achieving social change, to construct a sport-based social intervention, and to reflect on learning in relation to potential career pathways.

Content: Theory and concepts related to social change (e.g., activism, public pedagogy, inclusivity and diversity, power, inequality, citizenship, sustainability); sport and social movements (e.g., social change tactics, definitions of success, case studies); social change organisations and targets (e.g., sport for development NGOs, the United Nations); public, private, and third sector involvement in social change; organisational communication; careers in sport, physical activity, leisure, health, and exercise.
