Passport Check and Visa Collection

If requested by the Student Immigration Service, you must attend an appointment to have your documents checked.

We strongly encourage you to attend the main passport check session on Sunday 25 September 2022 from 10am to 4pm in 1W2.101. This will allow you to complete your (re-)registration on time and to fully benefit from events held during Welcome Week. You do not need to book an appointment and can just turn up during these times. Alternative sessions will take place in East Building 0.5 on the following dates:

  • Monday 26 September 2022 (10am - 4pm)
  • Tuesday 27 September 2022 (10am - 4pm)
  • Wednesday 28 September 2022 (10am - 2pm)
  • Thursday 29 September 2022 (10am - 2pm)
  • Friday 30 September 2022 (10am - 12pm)

Those students that do not have a Student Visa should upload their flight ticket/visa stamp copy/vignette on their SAMIS account. Student Immigration Service will email you directly with further details on how to do this.

International Relations Office induction on Tuesday 27 September 2022

Welcome events

Pick up your induction pack, have a coffee and meet other new students on the level 2 foyer in 5 West.

You can collect your induction pack from 9.30am on Tuesday 27 September. Please note that our induction session will start at 10am.

Introduction to University teams

Meet teams from around the University and find out how they can help you during your time at Bath. All introductions will take place in 5 West, Room 2.3. From 10am, you will be introduced to:

  • the International Mobility Team
  • the Students' Union
  • the Skills Centre

Campus tours

Current University of Bath students will lead campus tours from 11.45am (optional).

Optional sessions

English language test

If you want to improve your English language skills at Bath, you must first take the Cambridge English test so we can put you in the right class for your level.

Tests will be conducted online, during the induction you will receive detailed information on when the tests are taking place.

Roman Baths visit

Join us for a free visit of the Roman Baths on:

  • Wednesday 27 September at 2pm
  • Thursday 28 September at 10am or
  • Thursday 28 September at 2pm.

We will send you information on how to sign up in due course.

Department meetings

You must attend your academic department meeting to meet the Department Exchange Coordinator and learn more about your department and units that you'll be studying.
