Notice for researchers: We anticipate high volumes of applications for June and July 2026 REC meetings. Where meeting capacity is exceeded, applications may be deferred to subsequent meetings in September (there are no REC meetings in August). We encourage researchers to submit applications in time for earlier deadlines wherever possible. Dates are listed below.

With the exception of External & Sponsorship and of AWERB who consider applications on a rolling basis, all other RECs will meet every month. To allow for due diligence checks and review by committee members, ethics forms will have to be submitted via Ethics@Bath 2 weeks before the REC is due to meet as detailed below.

The reviewing committee will be determined automatically within the Ethics@Bath system, depending on the answers you provide within the ‘Type of Research’ section (Section A4). It is important to keep this in mind to ensure that you meet the correct deadline.
