Economics

Undergraduate courses starting in 2021

Economics is a social science which examines how consumers and producers make choices and how these affect the supply and demand for resources and their prices.

Economics helps us answer questions such as:

  • How can economic principles and insights be applied to the allocation of scarce resources?
  • Should we use taxation to reduce pollution?
  • How does economic policy affect inequality?

You will learn how to analyse complex data and solve quantitative problems. You will be able to review economic theory and apply quantitative techniques to aid the understanding of agents’ behaviour.
