A highly relevant area of study which looks to address global issues such as food security, human health and environmental sustainability.

Biosciences integrates knowledge and understanding of life over a range of scales, from ecosystems and populations to their molecular components. It's an exciting area of study, rapidly evolving with advances in biological technologies, tools and approaches, paving the way to tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.

All of our courses are accredited by the Royal Society of Biology and will give you the knowledge and skills to be part of the next generation of scientists. Bath graduates are highly sought-after by employers and we're ranked 6th overall for graduate prospects in the Complete University Guide 2022.

We offer three biosciences courses:

  • Biology which encompasses the study of life on all scales. It's a wide ranging and highly flexible course enabling you to work out where your interests lie.
  • Biochemistry which focuses on the study of biological systems at a cellular and biochemical level.
  • Biomedical sciences which applies biological science to explore human health and the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.
