  • UnitDX, Bristol,
  • This event is free

An immersive experience working on a live entrepreneurial business guided by scientific consultants.

Learn 'on the job' by spending a week helping a client build their business from the ground up. Alternatively, if you have an idea for a scientific business, be the client yourself. Find a market, a customer, develop a revenue model, build contact with industry, then pitch for investment. Learn the skill sets necessary to build your own company and translate your research into the real world.

This five-day programme is based in Bristol’s first Science Incubator, Unit DX, the focal point for the area’s growing scientific innovation ecosystem. It aims to to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurially minded researchers and arm them with the skill-sets needed to commercialise new discoveries in their field.

This experience is limited to five participants. Please email us to express an interest in this opportunity.

Reasonable daily travel costs will be refunded by the Doctoral College (equivalent to standard fare rail travel between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads).

This opportunity is open to all doctoral students but priority will be given to EPSRC-funded students in the first instance.
