About the workshop
One of the most common problems that presenters want to solve is how to feel more confident while speaking in public. Confidence would appear to be the holy grail for presenters: when describing confidence, people almost invariably wish to feel on the inside the way another person looks on the outside, and understanding this confusion is central to solving the problem. This highly interactive workshop attempts to equip participants with practical tools to help enhance their presentational style so that they can deliver their message with greater effect and impact. This session will not address specific issues relating to the content of academic presentations.
The session aims to help participants to understand:
- what is confidence, where does it come from and how can I make it?
- what do I need to do (or not do) in order to have a greater impact as a presenter?
- what processes can help me control the way in which I deliver my message?
- do I know my strengths and weaknesses in how I come across?
