About the workshop

SCOPUS is an abstract and citation database indexing over 20,000 peer reviewed journals from all subject areas, with links to full text articles. Its coverage also includes conference papers, trade press, patents from five patent offices, and a growing number of books. Scopus is the service used by the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) to provide citation details for panels using this for the Research Excellence Framework 2014 (REF2014). This workshop will give you a detailed overview of the database, what it covers and how best to search it. We will also look at setting up alerts and at the citation information and tools available.

Learning outcomes

After attending this workshop, you will:

  • be able to perform an effective literature search on SCOPUS
