About the workshop
Don't know your H-index from your impact factor? This workshop guides you through the publishing process from choosing where to publish, through disseminating and promoting your publications, to tracking attention and citations. You will have a chance to use various tools e.g. to find impact factors for journals in your field and explore article and author level citation metrics. We also discuss authors’ rights to share their publications and good practices for attracting citations.
Learning outcomes
After attending this workshop, you will:
- be able to draw on a range of factors to evaluate journals and choose where to publish
- know how to find journal metrics, e.g. impact factors, and be aware of their limitations
- understand the benefits of open access and how to make your thesis and research publications open access
- be able to track citations and other attention to your published research
