Technicians' Conference 2019

As part of our Technician Commitment we are holding the first conference for University of Bath technical staff to celebrate and showcase their work.

The first conference for University of Bath technical staff will be a celebration of what we do as technicians. Guest speaker Kelly Vere will share her experience of the impact the Technician Commitment has had so far nationally, and our own technicians will speak about their roles.

This will also be your opportunity to say what goes into our Technician Commitment action plan and hear our progress so far.

Poster exhibition

To showcase the role of technicians we would like each technical team within the University to submit a poster. This is your opportunity to show people what you do. You could feature an overview of your team's work, highlight a particular project or any other idea.

Posters should be A0 portrait format (841mm x 1189mm).

Speaker profiles

Kelly Vere is Director of Technical Skills & Strategy at the University of Nottingham and HE & Technician Commitment Lead for the Science Council. She is passionate about raising the profile of technical staff in higher education and has been instrumental in driving the Technician Commitment, a universities and research institutions initiative aiming to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians, across all disciplines.

Tom Mason is Social Media Manager at the University of Bath with extensive experience of supporting colleagues to use social media to promote their work.
