Accessing MyTimetable
For a more detailed guide, please read the step-by step guide to using MyTimetable.
MyTimetable is available on your computer/laptop and mobile device. Log in using your University username and password.
MyTimetable defaults to showing your individual timetable, released each Semester. You can also customise the view to show other units and course information.
Using the desktop site
The home screen of the desktop site is called the Timetable view. Your timetable will be updated if activities are moved, added or removed. In addition:
- You can view your timetable on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can also view everything as a list. The view is switched by picking the appropriate tab.
- You can return to the current date by pressing ‘Today’.
- You can export your timetable to your calendar as a subscription or download to PDF file (instructions below).
- You can quickly select a particular date by using the calendar at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on an activity to view more detail (e.g. unit code, location, staff member and week pattern).
- You can further customise your timetable by adding other course and unit details.
Using the mobile site
In addition to viewing your individual timetable and other courses and units timetables, you can use the Main Menu to set up your timetable to show on your mobile device.
Customising MyTimetable
Adding other units and courses to your view
Units
- Select 'Add timetable', followed by ‘Unit’ from the drop-down menu. A new window will appear.
- Type in your unit code in ‘Search for a unit’ box. You can find out the code for your units from your Programme Catalogue or your Academic Department. You can also filter your search on department and on programme of study.
- Check the box next to the timetables you would like to add and press ‘Add timetables’.
Course
- Select ‘Add timetable’ button on the right of the screen and ‘Programme of study’ from the drop-down menu. A new window will appear.
- Use the ‘Search for a programme of study’ box to search for your course's 10 digit code or course name. You can also filter your search by department.
- Check the box next to the timetables you would like to add and press ‘Add timetables’.
Showing only certain units for a course
Your course may have optional units and multiple groups receiving lectures and tutorials at the same time. You can customize a course's timetable and deselect optional units and unit activities, such as seminar groups, not relevant to you.
A warning triangle icon indicates an additional activity. These are usually skills sessions or placement sessions that your Department would like you to attend.
- To deselect optional units you have not signed up for or been allocated to, uncheck the irrelevant units in the menu to the right.
- To deselect unit activities irrelevant to you, press the 3 dot icon to the right of the unit code and name. A new box will appear. Click on ‘Filter activities’. You can now select the unit activities that are only relevant to you.
If you're not sure what group you've been allocated, check with your Academic Department. A unit that has been filtered will show in italics in your list.
Removing a unit/course timetable
In the menu to the right, press the 3 dots icon next to the timetable you want to delete and select ‘Remove’. Please note that timetables might not be removable, and units that are part of a timetable cannot be removed, just deselected.
Sync your timetable to your mobile device
In addition to the main mobile site, MyTimetable can be set up to synchronise with your device:
Google Calendar (including Android devices)
Android devices typically only sync to Google Calendar. To add your timetable you will need to link it first to the desktop version of Google Calendar. It will then be available on your mobile device. To add your timetable:
- Install Google Calendar on your mobile device, and log in to your account.
- In your desktop browser, go to MyTimetable.
- Click the 'Connect Calendar' button, and select 'Google Calendar' from the drop-down menu.
- Copy the URL that starts with 'https://mytimetable.bath.ac.uk/'.
- Open Google Calendar on your desktop and log in. Click the ‘+’ next to ‘Other calendars’ and choose ‘From URL’.
- Paste the URL into the text box, then click 'Add Calendar'.
- After a few seconds, the timetable will appear in your calendar. You can open and rename it as you prefer.
- Your timetable will now be available on your mobile device, and will periodically update with changes to your timetable.
Apple Calendar - iPhone/iPad
To add your timetable to Apple's Calendar app on your mobile device:
- Install Calendar, and log in to your account.
- In your mobile device's browser, go to MyTimetable.
- Click on the Menu icon, and select 'Connect to Calendar app'.
- Follow the instructions on screen to add your timetable to Calendar.
- Calendar will now periodically update with changes to your timetable.
Other mobile devices and calendar apps
Consult your manual for instructions. If you need a URL for your timetable, it can be found in MyTimetable by clicking 'Connect Calendar' and then selecting 'Other'.
Sync your timetable in Outlook
When you connect your Outlook to MyTimetable calendar it will automatic refresh in Outlook.
New Outlook
- In your browser, go to MyTimetable.
- Click the 'Connect Calendar' button and select 'Microsoft Outlook (desktop)' or 'Microsoft Outlook (web)' from the drop-down menu.
- Select 'Choose timetables' to select the timetable you want to connect.
- Select 'Connect calendar' and copy the url starting with 'https://mytimetable.bath.ac.uk/'.
- Do not continue to follow the instructions on screen. Instead open Outlook on your desktop and navigate to your Calendar.
- Select 'Add Calendar' and 'Subscribe from the Web'.
- Paste the URL into the text box, and give your calendar a name (e.g. 'My Timetable').
- Click 'Import'. Your timetable will now be visible in your list of calendars.
- Allow up to an hour for all activities to sync to Outlook.
Outlook Classic (from 2007)
- In your browser, go to MyTimetable.
- Click the 'Connect Calendar' button.
- Select 'Microsoft Outlook' from the drop-down menu.
- Select 'Choose timetables' to select the timetable you want to connect.
- Select 'Connect calendar' and follow the instructions on screen to set up your calendar in Outlook.
- Allow up to an hour for all activities to appear in Outlook.
Download a PDF of your timetable
You can create a pdf snapshot of your calendar using the desktop version of MyTimetable:
- Open MyTimetable, and click on the 'Download’ button.
- Select 'Printable PDF week' or 'Printable PDF list'.
- Select your desired date range, and click ‘Download’.
