Develop your fluency and confidence in English

The 10-week Discussions Skills course is for all undergraduate and postgraduate students who use English as a second language.

The course aims to build your confidence with spoken English so that you can participate effectively in English language discussions at university and beyond.

You will:

  • learn how to contribute, interrupt, give opinions, ask for opinions and change the topic in a way that will make it easy for you to be understood
  • learn new vocabulary, improve your fluency and have lots of opportunities to develop and practise your pronunciation
  • improve your general communication skills which are vital in the workplace.

Note, if you want to develop your vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking and writing skills, we also run a separate 10-week General English course each semester.
