Promoting your news on social media

Sharing your messages on the University's social media sites

We can support your messages through the University’s corporate social media channels and help colleagues by promoting their news and events on our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn profiles. In some instances, we may also be able to create content such as video interviews on your behalf or offer ‘takeovers’ of the University’s channels.

Sharing your messages with other social media users at the University

The Social Media team previews upcoming news and stories in a monthly email sent to staff across the University. This update includes content that staff can download to use on their own platforms.

Training and support

Social media training

We offer training for all University staff through the Centre for Learning and Teaching.

Our Introduction to Social Media course is aimed at staff who want an introductory guide to using social media. The session will provide attendees with a beginner’s guide to using sites like Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube to support their work at the University.

This session will introduce staff to a variety of online platforms with tutorials on how to publish content. Colleagues will learn how to use social media sites to engage with their relevant audiences and be confident in their online interactions.

Ongoing social media advice and guidance

The Social media team hosts a monthly Social Media Café on the third Thursday of each month to provide colleagues with answers to their social media questions. We can offer support and guidance on:

  • creating a social media strategy
  • event or news promotion
  • content creation
  • how to develop a content calendar
