Introduction
The University recognises the contribution made by its Associate Deans, Heads of Department, Professoriate and Senior Staff.
A Professorial Remuneration Procedure was introduced in April 2022 which defines a set of processes for the financial remuneration of all members of the Professoriate. The University wants people to progress and succeed and this procedure delivers an overall approach which recognises performance, delivers progression and is fair and inclusive.
Timescales
The Professorial and Senior Staff Salary Review process will normally take place between June and October each year.
Following the introduction of the Professorial Remuneration Procedure, the University will be holding Professorial Salary Review process in June 2022.
The June 2022 review process will consider applications for progression within a pay band and will only cover Professorial staff. Senior Staff (ALC6) within Professional Services will be contacted separately.
Week commencing 2 May 2022: Heads of Department will write to the Professorial community and invite applications for the June 2022 Professorial Pay Review with effect from 2 May.
20 May 2022: Deadline for applications from Professorial staff
8 June 2022: Faculties/Schools submit their recommendations to Human Resources
Week commencing 20 June 2022: The University Panel will be held to consider the applications submitted
By 5 July 2022: Letters sent out to individuals informing them of the outcome of the review
A further pay review will be held in November 2022 and will consider applications for progression within and between pay bands. The details of this will be updated after the conclusion of the pay review taking place in June.

To apply for the June 2022, please visit the Professorial Pay Review webpage, you will need to complete an application form and submit it to your Head of Department by no later than the 20 May 2022.
