Professorial Remuneration Procedure

Detailed information for the Professorial Remuneration Procedure including the process document and application form.

Policy

The Professorial Remuneration Procedure defines a set of processes for the financial remuneration of all members of the Professoriate. Refer to the documents attached for details of the procedure.

You can apply to move up by one or more spine points from any point on the pay scale, including the Introductory Zone. The level of documentation required will depend on the type of application being made.

There are three different paths through which an individual might apply for progression, summarised below, but more information can be found in the procedure and guidance documents.

Automatic progression

  • This is applied to spine points 53 -55. If you are on spine point 56 you will need to apply for pay progression

Form A

  • This form is to be used for 'within band' pay progression.
  • The introductory zone is part of the Amber band, so any progression from this zone further into the Amber band counts as movement ‘within band’ and should use Form A.

Form B

  • This form is to be used to move 'between bands'. So to move from any spine point within Amber to Green, or Green to Blue.

Please review the the Senior Staff pay scale to understand what band you are currently in.
