Vertically Integrated Project - Supporting B&NES Public Health Policy Projects

VIPs create sustainable, research-engaged communities of staff and students - both undergraduate and postgraduate - who work collaboratively on live projects.

VIP members will work with academic leads and a representative of the B&NES Public Health team to agree the scope of the project including expected timelines, deliverables and deadlines and the formats of required report and/or presentation. We would anticipate that the pilot projects would focus on key areas of the NHS 10-year plan that the Public Health Team are focusing on e.g., health in communities, neighbourhoods and supported care settings, further establishing the left-shift to prevention and addressing health inequalities. The VIP forms part of the Healthy Later Living Network – a multidisciplinary research network at the University of Bath which brings together leading academics, students, and stakeholders to support the UK government’s Grand Challenge of an Ageing Society. The University is working with business, charities, care providers, research funders, and the community to support generations to remain active, productive, independent, and social connected for as long as possible.

To support policy officials in the B&NES public health team to address their public health priorities which aim to create heath promoting places and strengthen compassionate and healthy communities.

This project will be working with Interim Head of Public Health, B&NES.
