Ways to give

Making a gift online is quick and easy. Your regular support means a lot to our students.

Making a regular gift

Giving by Direct Debit enables us to plan effectively and ensure we can guarantee money where it is needed most. It also helps us to keep our administration time down, ensuring we can do even more towards helping valuable projects - so please choose a regular gift if you can.

Please note - although the form allows you to specify any date for the collection of your regular gift, we are currently only able to collect gifts on the fourth day of each month.

Making a single gift

Your Credit or Debit Card gift online will be processed on our behalf by Blackbaud Merchant Services, who will forward your gift to us less a small administration charge. In all cases, however, we cover the amounts of these charges from our own administration budget – they are not deducted from your gift. One hundred per cent of the amount you give will go towards the purpose you wish to support.

Single gifts made by direct bank transfer do not incur any additional charges. Please email advancement@bath.ac.uk to request bank details.

Leaving a gift in your Will

Always Bath? Your legacy will ensure that the University of Bath will always be there for everyone.

We know that making a Will is one of the most important things you will do. Choosing who could benefit from your estate, as well as taking care of your loved ones, is deeply personal. It reflects what has been important to you in life and what you would like to pass on to future generations.

With a gift in your Will you could create opportunities for life-changing scholarships, support world-changing research, or create more innovative facilities on campus. Please consider leaving a lasting gift in your Will; your legacy will help to ensure that the University of Bath will always be there for everyone.

If you are thinking about leaving a gift to the University of Bath in your Will, thank you. There are many things to consider. Here are a few answers to frequent questions that you may find helpful.

What could your gift support?

Leaving a legacy to the University can be a truly personal and versatile form of giving. It could create transformative educational experiences for our Bath students or support research with impact.

Many alumni, staff and friends have strong links with the University – whether that's with their former department, sports team, the Library, research activities, scholarships or student support. Your experiences and memories of Bath can help you decide how you want to support the next generation.

Most people kindly choose to leave an unrestricted gift, which gives the University the flexibility to use your gift where the need is greatest and where it can have the biggest impact. If you prefer, you can direct your gift to a specific cause you care about. We would be pleased to discuss any requests you may have so that we can best meet your wishes.

Many people ask themselves if it is worth leaving a legacy. If you can consider donating to the University, any gift after you have made provision for those you care about, whatever the value, will make a big difference. A gift in your Will could help to alleviate student financial hardship or fund world-changing research.

Whatever your circumstances, we can guide you through the process of leaving a gift in your Will. If you already have a Will but would like to add a legacy gift to the University, amending your Will is both an easy and inexpensive option. Your solicitor can help with adding a ‘codicil’. Please request a copy of our codicil form to help you.
