About the role

Join our Waste & Recycling Team and help keep the University of Bath campus clean, safe and sustainable.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collect and empty waste and recycling bins across campus.
  • Transport and handle a range of waste streams safely and responsibly.
  • Operate waste collection vehicles, compactors and recycling equipment.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the Recycling Centre.
  • Help improve recycling rates and support the University’s sustainability goals.

Working hours: Typically 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday, with some weekend working as required to meet operational needs.

About you

You will be:

  • Reliable, practical and safety-conscious.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and undertaking physically active work.
  • A positive team player with a flexible, can-do approach.
  • Committed to delivering a high standard of service.
  • Confident following health and safety procedures and using equipment safely.
  • Organised, attentive to detail and committed to environmental sustainability.

Experience in waste management, recycling, vehicle driving or operating equipment such as compactors would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, 36.5 hours per week.
