Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice, University of Bath MPharm at the University of Plymouth
The Universities of Bath and Plymouth have collaborated with NHS England to establish a new School of Pharmacy located at the University of Plymouth.
The highly successful Bath MPharm is now being delivered on site in new purpose-built facilities at the University of Plymouth campus. In joining this unique collaborative approach to teaching pharmacy, you would be part of a growing team of staff as we continue to roll out the MPharm programme which started in September 2024. Staff teach across both the MPharm with a Preparatory year and the 4 year direct entry MPharm.
We are recruiting staff who will be located primarily in Plymouth but employed by the University of Bath, supporting delivery of this new MPharm degree.
About the role:
We are recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer post in Pharmacy practice (teaching-focussed) to be part of the Plymouth-based MPharm teaching team. You will provide high quality teaching and assessment on the MPharm courses, support individual learners and contribute to the successful delivery of this new school of pharmacy. This post will need to be able to cover a range of clinical topics and teach clinical and prescribing skills to undergraduates. You will be a passionate teacher and have a collegiate approach to working with academic and professional services colleagues. You will be joining a small but dynamic team based in Plymouth and will be expected to collaborate with colleagues at the University of Bath.
The University are willing to show flexibility in working practices and so applications from suitably qualified candidates seeking a role which offers hybrid working, full or part time working, job sharing and other forms of flexible employment are welcome. Please note, while the roles will be mainly based out of Plymouth, occasional travel to the Bath will be required.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take up the role in August or September 2026.
About you:
- A passionate pharmacist who is qualified as a prescriber
- A track record of delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment
- Ability to support individual learners with the provision of excellent pastoral care
- A passion for this exciting and innovative project and producing the pharmacists of the future
