Joining our multi-disciplinary team you will make a significant contribution to our research and teaching, with a particular focus on our Masters in Applied Clinical Psychology.

About you: 

With a background in research excellence you will be scientist with expertise relating to applied clinical psychology, potentially integrated with other areas of focus (e.g., cognitive neuroscience, developmental, educational, forensic, health, or social psychology).

With demonstrable research quality, you will have an international reach, and the ability to contribute to teaching in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while advancing our research and teaching on topics related to sustainability.

About us:

Research and teaching in the Department of Psychology occurs across five clusters: social and environmental psychology, clinical psychology, cognitive science, development and psychopathology, and health psychology. We are based in a new £30m purpose-built facility, containing two floors of state-of-the-art labs for interview, group observation, EEG/ERP, virtual reality, psychobiology, eye-tracking, pain, cross-modal and computerised testing.

In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, staff in the department were returned in different units of assessment, the largest of which (Allied Health Professions) obtained the highest REF2014 rating across the whole University. The University was ranked 12th overall in the UK in REF2014. The Department was recently ranked 2nd in the 2020 Complete University Guide.
