Head of Management Accounting

We are looking to appoint an experienced finance professional as Head of Management Accounting.

Reporting to the Director of Management Accounting, this pivotal role involves leading the MIS finance team to provide finance business partnering, budgeting and forecasting across the University’s academic and professional services departments. This role will work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider University enabling the team to produce strategic financial support, drive process improvements, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to enhance financial performance.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will work on ad hoc projects, supporting the development of new strategic initiatives and changes in practices driven by both internal and external factors.

The ideal candidate

  • be a qualified accountant;
  • will have experience leading finance teams across complex organisations;
  • will have experience building relationships with senior stakeholders;
  • be an expert user of excel and have experience of using Power Bi
  • be technically proficient and be able to understand and explain the financial implications of decisions.
  • able to adapt to a changing environment
