The School of Management is one of the UK’s leading business schools, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses to over 2500 students each year. We are a leading centre for management research, placed 8th in the UK in the latest research evaluation exercise and undertake world-leading research with a range of FTSE250 corporate partners and third sector organisations. The School is ranked 1st for Marketing, 2nd for Business and Management Studies (the Complete University Guide 2018) and 3rd for Business Studies (The Times and Sunday Times University Guide 2017).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the design and delivery of the School of Management’s postgraduate taught (PGT) student career and professional development support. The future growth of PGT programmes is of vital importance to the School and we are determined to underpin this with a high quality student experience which will enhance the employability of our students and in turn attract high quality applicants across all our programmes.

The role will lead a team working across the School’s MSc and MBA programmes and work closely with both senior professional service and academic staff together with central University teams including the Careers Service and Development and Alumni Relations. It will require interaction with PGT students, alumni, academic and professional staff, as well as liaison with external organisations and consultants. This is a busy and varied role and the post holder will need to have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative, have the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

A background in the Higher Education sector is not essential for this role but experience in careers and coaching will be advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest and understanding of global working practices and post graduate education. They will also possess the interpersonal and team-building skills required to provide leadership and support to the team as well as engaging with companies, students and other stakeholders.
