The Department of Finance & Procurement wish to appoint a Senior Finance Supervisor within the Commercial Finance Team.

About the role:

We are looking for someone to join our busy team which supports the financial operation of our customer group: Department of Estates, ahs, Security and Strategic Projects Office.

This new role is primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the payment function for our customers, with supervisory responsibility for two Finance Supervisors and you will regularly interact with operational staff and other colleagues in the Finance Department.

Experience of the Accounts Payable purchase to pay function is a pre-requisite and your ability to demonstrate an aptitude for supervising small teams and/or training others will be highly desirable for the role.

In addition, you will also be involved in:

  • month end account finalisation
  • data analysis
  • report preparation
  • assisting with stock management reporting across the customer group.

About you:

This opportunity would be ideal if you are interested in, or currently studying for, a relevant professional qualification as it will provide a variety of experience across the team's financial operation with the support of Management Accountants and qualified AAT staff in the team.

This is a full-time role working 36.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is one of the many ways we recognise the importance of achieving a positive work life balance. About us:

The Commercial Finance team is part of the University's Finance & Procurement Department reporting to the Director of Finance. Led by the Financial Controller, it comprises of 16 staff responsible for the financial administration, support and reporting to the Department of Estates, ahs, Security and Strategic Project Office.

The Team provides financial support for the core functions of Payment processing, Income collection, Payroll and internal recharging and is responsible for all financial reporting for the stakeholder group, from budget preparation to final account stage.
