The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Bath is internationally recognised as a leading centre for research and teaching in the built environment. The Department came joint top in the Architecture, Built Environment and Planning unit of assessment in the 2014 REF and we are consistently at the top of league tables. The University has received a Gold award in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The Department wishes to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Teaching Fellow inCivil Engineering. The post holder is expected to contribute to teaching, assessment and development of academic programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular the post-holder will contribute to the full time Undergraduate programmes in Civil Engineering and Civil & Architectural Engineering. Due to the joint nature of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, collaborative, integrated studio based design is central to our undergraduate teaching across all disciplines. With this in mind, experience of practical engineering design through industry experience is desirable. The post holder will be expected to contribute to lecture, tutorial and laboratory based teaching across a range of subjects within the Civil Engineering field. The post-holder will also be expected to engage in administrative tasks within the Department.

This is part time 0.4 FTE (14.6 hours per week) fixed-term post with an anticipated end date of August 2020.
