We have a superb opportunity for a Software Developer to join a small, friendly and encouraging development team!

About the role

This team is responsible for the development and support of web based solutions and system integrations across the University’s professional services and academic departments. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with both excellent problem solving and communication skills, who enjoys working on a variety of technical challenges, working closely with both technical and non-technical customers.

The role involves developing and supporting both in-house and 3rd party solutions using a variety of development tools, databases and automated testing and continuous integration/delivery frameworks to aid in the deployment of robust software solutions. 

It is an exciting time to join as we look ahead to transition our services to the public cloud and although not essential, experience of cloud-based integration solutions would be advantageous. 

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis. 

About you 

  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Experience in developing applications using the Microsoft development stack, such as C#/ASP.NET
  • Experience of capturing user requirements and translating to user stories
  • Have an awareness of automated testing tools and methodologies
  • Possess a methodical approach to incident management and problem resolution
  • Experience in front-end web development using JavaScript (React JS, Typescript)
