Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an Applications Support Developer to join the University’s Department of Computing Services.

Key Accountabilities

You will be focussed on the support and maintenance of the corporate systems used by our AHS and Estates departments, in order to meet the increasing and changing needs of the business and their customers.

Skills - Essential & Desirable

  • Second and third tier support of large business information systems in a customer service environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within the development team and also with customers and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a self-reliant manner, managing priorities effectively in a changing technical and business environment.
  • Experience of working with third party API integrations and dealing with external suppliers.
  • Some experience of database development (PL\SQL or MS SQL Server) would be of value, as would web development including any of the following technologies: Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, HTML5, XML and CSS
  • Experience of IT in a Higher Education environment.

The MIS team is primarily responsible for the delivery and maintenance of corporate and tactical business systems via appropriate project and programme management.
