The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options. We have vacancies for Porters. As a Porter you will be required to undertake portering duties to support events and conferences. This will include moving furniture between spaces and setting up rooms in different configurations depending on the nature of each event, as directed by your Line manager.

You must have an awareness of Health and Safety issues, as well as a thorough, methodical but highly flexible attitude to work that is suited to a busy and fast-paced environment. 

The successful candidate should work well within a team and have experience of working in a porter/general porter role and providing an excellent standard of customer service.

The role includes early morning, evening and weekend working on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract (36.5 hours per week). We are open to consider a variety of flexible work options, including part time or compressed hours, so if you are unable to work the hours advertised, but would like to explore alternative flexible options, including a 4 day week, then we would still love to hear from you.
