Catherine Mealing-Jones Appointed by Council
Will undertake the responsibilities of members of governing bodies as set out in the CUC Guide for Members of Higher Education Governing Bodies in the UK.
Catherine is the Director of Growth at the UK Space Agency. She leads the work to grow the UK space sector which includes developing a consistent industrial and investment policy and leading a number of programmes. She joined the Agency in January 2012 and was previously the Director of Technology for the UK Border Force.
Catherine has over 30 years of public service experience in frontline delivery, directing major programmes, providing policy advice and leading change. She has worked in central government, abroad in the Middle East and Africa and in regional government. Her first degree is in English, she has a Masters in European Politics and a Postgraduate diploma in Public Finance and Leadership from Warwick Business School.
Catherine is a graduate of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority Project Leadership Programme. She is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Catherine has previously been a school governor and a non-executive director at the Satellite Applications Catapult. She has been appointed to the Remuneration Committee and the Equality and Diversity Committee.
