Emily Richards Head of Strategic Engagement (Humanities & Social Sciences)
Emily develops stakeholder relationships for the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences for placement opportunities, alumni relations and business engagement.
Role
Emily works with stakeholders including businesses, not-for-profit organisations, alumni and research funders for undergraduate and postgraduate placement and employability opportunities.
Emily's developed the Faculty’s long-term commitment to the global One Young World Summit, sponsoring students to attend the event since 2013, and oversees the annual student-led One Young World Bath caucus held on campus since 2017. The Summit aligns closely to the Faculty’s teaching and research themes and to the University’s overall objective of empowering young people to become future leaders committed to creating positive social change. Bath is the only UK Higher Education institution to consistently support the event, along with influential world leaders and global organisations.

Career
Emily has worked in professional services for the University for over 15 years and, prior to the business engagement role, led the Faculty’s Marketing, Communications & Web team.
Before returning to her home city of Bath, she worked in sales and conference management in London and Sydney for sectors including online learning, real estate, information security, mobile commerce and broadcast media.
Education
Emily is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a Chartered Marketer with CIM postgraduate qualifications in Marketing and Digital Marketing. She holds a BA (Hons) in Social Policy and Criminology from the University of Hull.
