Duration

Project started on 1 Jul 2026

Project Lead: Simona Montagnana, Department of Economics.

This is a collaborative project addressing the growing and problematic presence of generative AI in higher education. It brings together three departments: Economics, Mathematical Sciences, and Education, with the goal of identifying weak tasks across existing assessments in the open-lane, finding emerging and common themes vulnerable to AI, and providing broad principles for curriculum and assessment design. While each department has its own peculiarity, learning outcomes, and assessment formats, the project seeks shared principles that emerge from discipline comparison and that can support academic integrity, and fair evaluation. Most importantly, the project will try and develop guidelines on how AI-robust tasks can be incorporated in most assessments without taking away important components of the student’s learning process present in any formative and summative piece of assessment.

Project outcomes expected Autumn 2027.
