To support this commitment, we’ve updated our Health and Safety Handbook for the 2026/27 academic year. The handbook template provides a structured framework for documenting departmental safety arrangements and ensuring they are clearly communicated.

Heads of Department are responsible for ensuring there are suitable and sufficient health and safety arrangements in place covering all activities that fall under their control.

To tailor the handbook for your department, please:

• add your department name to the cover page
• complete all sections highlighted in red (these require department-specific information)
• remove any content not applicable to your department.

Once completed, please circulate the final version to your teams and ensure staff are aware of the information relevant to their roles.
