The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the University of Bath initiated their partnership in 2013. Since the previous agreement was signed in 2018, Bath and FAPESP have co-funded thirteen projects involving PIs from the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Humanities and Social Sciences:

The aim of the partnership is to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers, both faculty and postdoctoral researchers, from the University of Bath and from the State of São Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects. SPRINT mobility grants fund the travel and accommodation of research teams over periods of up to 2 years. FAPESP have widened the criteria for the next calls so it is no longer necessary that teams in either institution have an agreement with FAPESP to collaborate. This widens the pool of collaborating partners in São Paulo for future projects.

Bath entered the 3/2023 SPRINT funding call which closed to applications in February 2024. Successful applications will be announced in due course. Bath will be entering one more call in the 2023/24 academic year. Keep an eye on the FAPESP webpage for updates.
