Apply for Bath-FAPESP SPRINT international research funding

The call for collaborative research projects with the São Paulo State Research Foundation in Brazil has now closed.

Joint Funding Call

During an open call the International Relations Office invites applications for the University and São Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP) funding call to support projects in all disciplines.

The joint call for São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration (FAPESP SPRINT) builds on our successful partnerships in Latin America and the research connections our academics have forged with colleagues in Brazil.

The FAPESP-SPRINT award provides seed funding for collaborative research at the initial project stage. You can apply for an amount of up to £5,000 per year, for projects running for a maximum of two years. Funding for the partner researcher is matched by FAPESP.

Eligibility

Find out if you're eligible to apply for the funding.

The call is open to researchers affiliated with the University for projects with partners at research institutions in the State of São Paulo. To be eligible, the collaborating PI will have to be awarded FAPESP funding or be concurrently applying to the SPRINT call. It is not necessary to have established links.

Please visit the FAPESP website for application guidance.

Our Cooperation Agreement with FAPESP has facilitated collaborative research and research staff mobility since 2013.

Previous awards have included projects with academics at the University of São Paulo (USP), University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and São Paulo State University (UNESP), including research on social innovation, statistical applied mathematics, and early virus detection.
