China Scholarship Council
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Bath jointly support Chinese students to study full-time for a PhD at Bath.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC): University of Bath PhD programme is available to Chinese citizens. Applications should be submitted to the University of Bath, normally between December and mid-January and nominated candidates should apply to the CSC between March and April annually.

Chevening Master's and Chevening/Bath MBA scholarships
The University of Bath is pleased to host Chevening Scholars from around the world every year.
Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarships and fellowships programme funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential and can be awarded in almost any field for one year of full-time postgraduate study in the UK.
In addition to the Chevening Master’s Scholarship, two Chevening/Bath MBA Scholarships are available every year.

Applications for 2023/24 were open from 2 August to 1 November 2022.
Commonwealth Scholarships
The University of Bath is a proud host of Commonwealth Scholars. Commonwealth Scholarships are available for Master’s and PhD studies through the programmes detailed below.
Commonwealth Master's Scholarship
Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are available for students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK.
Applicants should, where possible apply for admission to Bath in advance of submitting a scholarship application. Applicants must be nominated by the Nominating Agency in their country and apply to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.
Applications for 2023/24 closed on 18 October 2022.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships (for Master's study)
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme (CSS) is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and the University, to provide scholarships for students from developing countries in the Commonwealth.
Applications for 2023/24 closed on 13 December 2022.
Commonwealth Split-Site PhD Scholarships (for low- and middle-income countries)
The Commonwealth Split-Site PhD scholarships offer PhD scholars studying at eligible universities across the Commonwealth the opportunity to conduct research at an institute in the UK for 12 months.
To come to the University of Bath, an institutional or departmental link must exist between your home university and Bath. Check with your Department or university’s international office, or otherwise email us at internationalsponsorship@bath.ac.uk to find out.

Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for least developed countries and fragile states)
Commonwealth PhD Scholarships are for candidates from least developed countries and fragile States in the Commonwealth, for full-time doctoral study at a UK university. Candidates must apply to the relevant Nominating Agency in their country as well as to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. Applicants are required to submit a supporting statement on institutional letterhead from a proposed supervisor in the UK from at least one of the institutions named on the application form. United States: Marshall Scholarship
The University of Bath is a Marshall Partner university.
Founded by a 1953 Act of Parliament, Marshall Scholarships are mainly funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and commemorate the humane ideals of the Marshall Plan conceived by General George C Marshall.
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study towards a graduate degree in the United Kingdom. Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at a UK institution in almost any field of study.
Candidates should contact their undergraduate institution if they are considering applying for a Marshall Scholarship.
The deadline for the 2024 Marshall Competition is 26 September 2023.
Colombia: Colfuturo
Colfuturo offers funding for Colombian students to study at Bath under a loan-scholarship arrangement.
You will need an offer letter from Bath before applying to Colfuturo. Applications to Colfuturo are normally open annually between January and February. Recipients of Colfuturo funding are eligible for tuition fee discounts of 25% for PhD studies and 15% for one-year Master’s programmes.
The deadline for applications to Colfuturo for 2023/24 was 28 February 2023.
Mexico: FIDERH / Bank of Mexico
Mexican students may be eligible to apply for financing for their postgraduate studies through the Bank of Mexico.
The Fund for the Development of Human Resources (FIDERH), administered by the Bank of Mexico, finances postgraduate studies for Mexican students. Students funded under FIDERH are eligible for a fee discount at Bath of 15% for Master’s and 25% for PhD programmes.
Mexico: FUNED
Mexican students may be eligible to apply for financing for their postgraduate studies through the FUNED.
FUNED offers loans with partial scholarships for Mexican students to undertake Master’s degrees. FUNED funded students at Bath are eligible for a 15% tuition fee discount.
Applicants will need an offer letter from the University. Please see the FUNED for further information, eligibility and the scholarship applications process.
Indonesia: LPDP
The University of Bath is on the LPDP list of universities.
LPDP sponsors graduate programs for Indonesian students.
LPDP scholarship applications are usually opened for two periods each year in February and July.
Kazakhstan: Bolashaq International Scholarship
The University of Bath is approved as a study destination for Bolashaq scholars.
The Bolashaq International Scholarship Programme is Kazakhstan’s international scholarship programme for high-achieving students from Kazakhstan to study towards Master’s or PhD courses at selected universities in other countries before returning to work in Kazakhstan.

Saudi Arabia: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program
The University of Bath is listed in the Research and Development, and Supply Path tracks of the Saudi Ministry of Education’s Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. Saudi citizens can study at Bath under the Research and Development track for doctoral scholarships and the Supply Path track for undergraduate and Master’s scholarships.
