We offer scholarships aimed at overseas students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship

The Chancellor's Scholarship is an award of a first year tuition fee waiver worth up to £2,000.


About the Chancellor's Scholarship

The Chancellor's Scholarship is aimed at overseas students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies. All eligible overseas students will receive a first year tuition fee waiver worth up to £2,000.

Scholarship value

If eligible you will receive one of the following:

  • a £2,000 first year tuition fee waiver if you achieve A Level grades of A* A* A*, or equivalent (see Terms and Conditions)
  • a £1,000 first year tuition fee waiver if you achieve A Level grades of A* A* A, or equivalent (see Terms and Conditions)

Eligibility Criteria

In order to receive the Chancellor's Scholarship you must:

  • be assessed as a new first year overseas fee paying student
  • accept a place on a full-time campus based undergraduate course starting in 2020
  • achieve A Level grades of at least A* A* A, or equivalent (see Terms and Conditions)

How to apply

If you apply to Bath and meet the eligibility criteria you will be considered automatically for the Chancellor's Scholarship and the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship.

We will notify you by email if we determine that you are eligible for either or both of these awards upon confirmation of your examination results.


The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship

The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship is an award of a first year tuition fee waiver worth up to £8,000.


About the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship

The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship is aimed at overseas students studying the International Baccalaureate who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies. All overseas students receiving this award will receive a first year tuition fee waiver worth up to £6,000.

Scholarship value

If eligible you will receive one of the following:

  • if you achieve 44 points or higher in your IB you will receive a £6,000 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £8,000 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)
  • if you achieve 43 points in your IB you will receive a £3,000 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £5,000 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)
  • if you achieve 42 points in your IB you will receive a £1,500 first year tuition fee waiver (a total of £3,500 including the Chancellor's Scholarship)

Eligibility Criteria

In order to receive the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship you must:

  • be assessed as a new first year overseas fee paying student
  • accept a place on a full-time campus based undergraduate course starting in 2020
  • achieve 42 points or higher in the International Baccalaureate (IB)

How to apply

If you apply to Bath and meet the eligibility criteria you will be considered automatically for the Chancellor's Scholarship and the International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship.

We will notify you by email if we determine that you are eligible for either or both of these awards upon confirmation of your examination results.


The Doctor Shakuntala Gokhale Award

The Doctor Shakuntala Gokhale Award is worth £1,400 in your first year of study.


About the Doctor Shakuntala Gokhale Award

The Doctor Shakuntala Gokhale Award offers one award aimed at an academically gifted student from India.

Award value

If successful you will receive:

  • £1,400 in the first year of study to cover course related costs. The award will be paid directly to you in three installments in September, January and April.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to receive the The Doctor Shakuntala Gokhale Award you must:

  • be assessed as a new first year full-time overseas fee paying student
  • be an Indian national and resident in India
  • have completed the Indian 12th Standard

How to apply

There is no application process for this award. The University will select the most academically gifted student upon confirmation of exam results at the end of August.

  • £3,000 per year of study for 3 years (not paid in your placement year)
  • a paid industrial placement opportunity in J.P. Morgan's technology department as a Software Engineer
