Borrowing a Library Calculator

The Library has a small number of University approved calculators. These are available for loan from the Library Reader Services desk for use in the Library.

Calculators for use in the Library

The Library holds a small number of Casio FX-991EX calculators from the examinations office. This is the model in use for University assessments where a calculator is required and provided for students.

These calculators are available for loan from the Library Reader Services desk during our staffed hours 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. They will be issued to your library card and should be returned on the same day to be discharged from your account. Daily late fees of 80p apply to the late return of calculators.

Our calculators are only available for use in the Library and cannot be taken away for assessments or other exams where you are allowed or expected to bring a calculator.

The Library does not have enough calculators to provide to student groups for this purpose and these are in high demand by Library users during revision periods.

It is expected that students will borrow a Library calculator to use in relation to work they are doing in the Library or in order to familiarise themselves with the device in advance of assessments where they will be issued to students sitting the examination.
